Palm oil seems like the answer to a
lot of people’s prayers: a useful substitute for the artery-clogging
trans fats found in fast foods and other consumables. Eating
healthy comes with a steep price tag, because palm oil
production, which occurs mainly in Indonesia and Malaysia,
happens to rely on heavily destructive cultivation techniques that
are destroying what little rainforest remains in those two nations.
