Welcome to Room 228: “ALWAYS LEAVE A PRETTY CORPSE.” Pull the shades, pour yourself a drink, and duck when the
shooting starts. The pressure is building at the Motel Americana as shoddy detective Max gambles his wits and good
intentions against the dangerous mood swings of his dream-girl, the maternal machinations of his employer, and the
lurking violence of her son, all set amidst a whirlpool of pills and cheap booze, suicide notes and loaded firearms. It’s a
puzzle with a picture of death at its center, and none of the pieces are lining up in this gruesome slice of crime.
